**AECOM** is actively seeking a mid-level geologist for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military munitions response and environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Hydrogeology, Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
A minimum of 4+ years experience response and environmental investigations and through site clean-up and closure. Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
+ Project and task management, client interaction, proposal writing, cost estimating, remedial systems design, overseeing implementation/construction of remedial actions, technical report writing, and mentoring.
+ Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative
+ Fully qualified scientist. Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
+ Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields
+ Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
+ Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
+ Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
+ Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
+ Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
+ Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or other related discipline (e.g., geophysics, geochemistry, environmental geology, engineering geology) + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Valid U.S. Driver's License
+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
+ Experience with CERCLA
