Golder is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our St. Louis, MO office. In this role, you will support our project teams by performing field investigations and evaluations to develop design recommendations, and assist in the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications. You will work closely with project managers and senior engineers to provide services to our clients in the infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, and power sectors. A successful candidate should be capable of working independently and accurately under general supervision of senior-level Geotechnical Engineers and/or Geologists.
**Responsibilities of the role will include:**
+ Complete site subsurface investigations including soil and rock core drilling oversight, geologic/geotechnical logging, and field and laboratory sampling
+ Prepare geologic and geotechnical boring logs, geologic cross-sections, and design drawings/figures
+ Perform oversight and testing on geotechnical projects during design and construction
+ Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and report preparation
+ Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a similar field of study
+ Ability to plan and execute field programs with knowledge of proper logging and sampling techniques
+ Ability to work on extended assignments away from the home office location
+ Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (at least up to 50 pounds)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Master’s degree in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or an equivalent field of study
+ EIT certification
+ Experience with MS Office, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Slide, RS2, OpenGround Cloud, gINT, and other typical geotechnical software preferred
+ Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training, with 8-hour refresher updates as applicable
+ Completed MSHA Part 48 surface and/or underground safety training, with 8-hour refresher updates as applicable
