Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for a  Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Tampa, FL team. The candidate will support and manage projects in Florida, to provide civil/geotechnical engineering services for dams & levees, mining, commercial development and civil infrastructure & transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide civil/geotechnical engineering support to project teams and assist with delivery geotechnical and geologic projects to Wood’s public and private sector clients
Projects include site investigation, dams and levees design, mining and tailings pond design and construction, transportation, utilities and other civil works projects
Support geotechnical/civil investigation and design activities
Support field construction inspection and testing
Management of a variety of field work activities
Geotechnical engineering analyses and assistance with report preparation
Collaboration and participation in technical discussions with Wood team members Skills / Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering, Geotech/Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline
3-5 years+ experience in geotechnical engineering and field investigations
Strong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local Florida soils and geology
Currently EI registered and eligible to apply for PE licensure in Florida
Diverse experience in the following areas highly desired:
Experience with drilling, field investigations, and laboratory testing
Good communication, report writing, interpersonal and presentation skills
Superior time management, planning and ability to interact with clients
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Proficiency with Geostudio SLOPE/W & SEEP/W software is a plus but not required
Willing to travel for extended periods of time
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy Company Overview
