Golder is seeking a **Geologist** to join our Richmond, VA
office. In this role you will have
opportunities to use your knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry,
physics, etc. to provide world-class consulting services to a variety of
**Responsibilities of the role will include:**
+ Performing field work, datacollection, data interpretation and evaluation;
+ Perform office-based datareview and geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for theidentification of geologic hazards;
+ Perform subsurface fieldgeologic exploration tasks including drilling and test pit explorations;
+ Perform various media sampling(groundwater, surface water, soil, air, etc.);
+ Perform Phase I/IIEnvironmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards; and
+ Perform data compilation,report writing and other related duties to support a project team.
+ BS in Geology or Hydrogeologyrequired;
+ The candidate must bedetail-oriented, and a team player with good communication, analytical,organization, and time management skills;
+ Experience performing soilclassifications is required;
+ Strong technical writing andverbal communication skills are required, along with willingness to workas part of a group;
+ Ability to operate and maintainfield testing and monitoring equipment;
+ Exhibit strong computer skills,including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with other data analysis anddatabase tools is a plus;
+ Performance of work ininclement weather conditions following OSHA requirements;
+ Ability to lift and transport aminimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during the course of work;
+ Ability to safely operate avehicle on behalf of the company;
+ Willingness and exhibit awillingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands whichcould be upwards of 50% of the time and periodically adjust personalschedules to meet project needs; and
+ Ability to work in a fastpaced, ever changing environment.
+ Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPERhealth and safety training and current, valid refresher course.
+ Master’s degree inGeology or Hydrogeology preferred.
