Entry Level Civil Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Civil Engineer for employment in our Los Angeles office in the Geotechnical Engineering group. Your work will focus on large civil projects, such as tunnels, dams, pipelines, bridges, levees, highways, and building construction.

The responsibilities of this position will involve participation in various geotechnical and geologic tasks including, but are not limited to:
+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
+ Conduct typical geotechnical and geologic field activities
+ Prepare boring logs, data analysis summaries, generate subsurface cross sections and profiles, and compile reports.
+ Perform desktop geologic and seismic hazards assessments
+ Prepare engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids
+ Develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities through assigned tasks
+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
+ Assist Project Managers during budget and proposal preparation, development of the work plans and overall coordination of a variety of project management tasks related to new and on-going geotechnical and geologic projects.
+ BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Valid US Driver’s License
+ MS in Civil Engineering or related field
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
+ OSHA HAZWOPER 40 Hour training
+ Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and safely drive a full-size pickup truck
+ Tolerance for work in outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions
